With more than 25 years of experience manufacturing its exclusive line of products, such as Doctor Mecánico, degreasers, household cleaners, cleaning and maintenance products for the car, sanitizers, alcohol, private labels, among others.
Universal Manufacturing Corp. was created at the end of 1997 by its current owner and president, Evaristo "Tito" Freiría. In its beginnings it was located in Bayamon, PR in a 5,000 sq. ft. building. It specialized in private labels and different types of cleaning products. With the creation of the new Doctor Mecánico product line, a new category was created under multi-purpose cleaners. Now relocated to a 42,000 sq. ft. building in Vega Alta, PR, it has a workforce of 70 employees.
Its main brand, Doctor Mecánico Multipurpose Cleaner is the leading brand in its category and has 90% of the market share. It is sold in the main chain stores in PR such as Wal-Mart, Sams, Costco, Kmart, Pep Boys, AutoZone, Home Depot, National Hardware, among others. His company exports the Doctor Mecánico product line to the United States, the Caribbean and South America.
