Papalotes

For millions across the Spanish-speaking world, the word "papalotes" evokes the exhilaration of youthful play and happiness. The Spanish word for "kites," "papalotes" also calls to mind the simplicity and elegance of a kite floating against the sky and its universal appeal. Papalotes, the brand, captures these elements through matching, high-end fashions for infants, boys and girls. Its collections, which range from size 0 to 12, also transcend their tropical origins by marrying European style and Caribbean flair. They feature some of the best fabrics available, a well as unusual appliqués and stitching. Puerto Rican designer Lori Riollano founded Papalotes in 1998 inspired by the desire to create elegant, matching outfits for her older son and daughter. Her family and the company have since grown to include two more boys, MoHao - a brand of children's swimwear - and an exclusive Papalotes boutique in Puerto Rico.
